Belmont School Based Mentoring

The Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia recognizes the benefits of caring adult role models serving as mentors to BCS and FCS students. Positive adult-youth relationships can encourage students to stay in school, help students set and achieve goals, and help students to develop healthy and happy attitudes.

Therefore, at CEAWP, students receive mentoring from either a teacher different than their own, an area college student or a young professional from the Philadelphia area. Students meet with or speak to their mentors on a weekly basis. All mentors go through an extensive orientation process.
