Mentoring Program

Belmont's mentoring programs partner with local young professionals and three nearby schools: Bryn Mawr College, Haverford College, and Drexel University to provide Belmont students with caring adult mentors who offer them consistent positive support and encouragement. The Be Big and Dream Big Programs are aimed at empowering the students' of Belmont and helping them develop skills necessary to be successful in relationships and the achievement of their goals. Mentors and students meet weekly to participate in activities such as games, athletics, and arts and crafts, with an emphasis on personal, academic, and social growth.

Our Be Big Program works closely with our 2nd through 4th grades supporting students as they work to become active consumers of learning. Furthermore, our Dream Big Program, serving 5th through 8th graders, facilitates goal setting, offers monthly field trips to cultural events, and performs community service work in the community. CEAWP provides mentor training, student preparedness, and opportunities for all participants to seek out new information and opportunities for growth. We look forward to future growth in areas including: inter-generational mentoring, vocational apprenticeships, and tutoring.

In addition to mentoring, CEAWP has many opportunities for people to get involved, including episodic events, reading to students, and assisting with afterschool. For more information please contact Bob Szybist at bob.szybist@cea-philly.org.
