The Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia

The Community Education Alliance of West Philadelphia (CEAWP) is a partnership organization comprised of two charter schools, Belmont Charter School (BCS) and Family Charter School (FCS), and one 501(c)3 non-profit entity. CEAWP works solely with the community of Belmont, which is home to both Belmont Charter School and Family Charter School. The low socioeconomic status of the community places the students of BCS and FCS at significant risk of academic failure. Therefore, beginning at age 3 and continuing through middle school, students receive rigorous and challenging academics and direct social services to provide them with the knowledge and skills to succeed.

CEAWP aims to equip these youth with a comprehensive education to combat the conditions inherent in a life of poverty.  In order to achieve this goal, CEAWP realizes the need for a revamped approach to social and community-based services by using the schools as a base for all services and programs.  Just as the students receive their academics at BCS and FCS, they also receive all other services offered through CEAWP in their own schools, making them highly accessible to ALL students and their families.
